Last Call: Share your Arctic Visions!

"After a summer packed with long days, hard work, and good times, it struck me one day that the midnight sun had been setting and that there was an additional chill in the air. Nostalgia flooded me, but I knew it was time to go home. There were a few pieces of camp we left behind, sealed as best we could, to brave the winter. I found myself envious of them. Russell Glacier, Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. Photo, comment: Richard Barnes Thanks, Richard Barnes, for sending in the above photo for the 2014 Arctic Visions calendar photo contest. It's a timely image, with the U.S. NSF-funded science program officially closed down for the long winter.

Today marks the end of the submission period, but due to the holiday weekend, we will accept images through Tuesday, September 3. So if you haven't gotten around to it, and you intended to, send it in!
