-------------------- CH2M HILL Polar Services (CPS) announces an Aviation Land and Water course in Anchorage, Alaska, 20-21 April 2010. The two-day course offers an intense look at methods and techniques for surviving aviation accidents in the Arctic. Students are exposed to land and water crash simulators to duplicate impact conditions, and receive "dunker" training in a local pool with certified instructors. The course is facilitated by Learn to Return (LTR) Training Systems (http://www.survivaltraining.com).

The course is open to twenty NSF-funded arctic researchers. This includes principal investigators, graduate students, research assistants, and undergraduate field assistants. The course is free of charge for all qualified researchers. Travel assistance/per diem is available for participants outside the local area of the course. CPS can only accept attendees whose schedules allow them to attend all days of the course. CPS will arrange and provide travel and accommodations for course participants only, and will not arrange accommodations for partners and/or families nor provide assistance with personal travel in conjunction with the course.

Interested participants should contact Angela Pagenkopp at: angela@polarfield.com, with their name, affiliation, e-mail, active NSF grant number and the principal investigator's name.
